Vehicle odor has been the highest complaint rate among consumers in China's auto industry since 2016. According to the 2020 China New Car Quality Study (IQS), the number of problems caused by vehicle odor reached 10.4 PP100 per 100 vehicles, far more than other problems.


 
From 2016 to 2020, the proportion of vehicle odor problems in the total number of problems decreased from 15.7% to 8.2%, especially in 2018, there was a significant decline, indicating that many auto brands in 2017 and 2018 have begun to pay attention to vehicle odor and to study how to reduce odor. But the study also found that from 2018 to 2020, the decline in vehicle odor problems began to slow, indicating that car companies have encountered a bottleneck in addressing the problem.
